This is the personal home page for Tom White. Here you will find a repository of computer articles, talks and projects that I have created over the last few years. I also have a Java blog over at java.net and a more general mainly technical one.

I work for Cloudera, which provides Hadoop support.

I am a committer on Apache Hadoop Core, a member of the Hadoop Project Management Committee, and an Apache Member. I'm writing a book on Hadoop for O'Reilly.

The name of this site, "tiling.org", came about because my first Java project (alhambra) was concerned with plane tilings. Many of the other projects have a mathematical or visual slant.
